AU 14th Assembly Ends With Successes: Ambassador Konjit:In general, representatives of 50 countries of the continent

Addis Ababa, February 4, 2010 (Bahir Dar) - Permanent Envoy to African Union, Ambassador Konjit Sinegiorgi said the 14th assembly of heads states and governments of the member nations of the African Union concluded here on Thursday successfully.

Ambassador Konjit said the summit was attended by 28 presidents, three deputy presidents, three prime ministers and one deputy prime ministers.

She further said 12 first ladies and 10 foreign ministers also took part in the assembly, which the ambassador said, was a success.

In general, representatives of 50 countries of the continent attended the summit.

Also the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Current Chairperson of the European Union, the World Bank , the African Development bank President took part in the assembly.

According to Ambassador Konjit, the AU Ministerial Conference and its steering committee as well as the summit have issued over 56 proclamations, conventions and proposals, among others.
